History of the Philosophy Club?

A few days ago I was think about a poster for the club, something that would include: "Corrupting the Youth of Newcastle Since..." (plus a picture of a youth being 'corrupted', whatever that looks like). It was then that I realised that I had no idea how long we had been corrupting these so-called youths.

So if anyone who frequents this site has any information on this, or any ideas on where to start or who to ask, I'd be very happy to hear them. We could compile a comprehensive history, replete with anecdotes and disagreements. (What we will probably end up with is philosophical equivalent of He Died With a Felafel in His Hand. )

No problem, but first we need the actual content. And I'm not sure how 'graphical' it is going to be.

Subversion? It's a nice thought (especially after seeing V for Vendetta)but personally I'm not sure if subversion is possible any more. Even if it was, I'm not sure that any of us are capable of it. Yeah some of us wear black (or really bad non-black shirts), and we talk alot of shit, I'm sure the government is shaking in its boots. I don't think we have earned the right to call ourselves, or any of our publications 'subversive'.

When I say subversive I mean more along the lines of 'encouraging' people to think about things they wouldn't normally think about, subversive in more social sense. Heck, if we wanted to get all government-subverty then we'd be those grubby looking socialist types on campus. Pass.

On a side note I am a strong advocate of the Principia Discordia and all that it entails.

As usual I stand corrected, pushing a text probably makes me far worse. As far as the actual content goes i'm in it for the humour and bizarre-ness, that is to say completely devoid of any smugness or delusion of any sort of high ground. When it all comes down to it taking its 'philosophy' seriously would be a feat of ignorance. As this 'real philosophy' what is it and where can I learn its rules and regulations?
